Printable Pop-Up Valentine’s Card.

You can use any kind of paper or card to make your Valentine's Day cards. I used coloured cardstock for the outside and white cardstock for the inside as it holds better but standard copier paper or scrapbook paper would also work.

Simple print, colour and cut out all the pieces for a cute card that pops to life with a fun 3D heart surprise inside.

All you need to keep in mind as you create your card is to make sure the hearts don't extend past the edge of the card when closed.

The hearts provided in the template will fit perfectly but if you want to add your own embellishments to the tabs this is something you might want to think about.

Supplies:

How To Make Easy Heart Pop-Up Cards.

1. Print out your template onto your chosen cardstock or paper.

I used pink card for the outside of my card and white for the inside.

2. Colour in the hearts and cut out all of your template pieces.

You should have an outer piece, a slightly smaller inner piece with dashed lines in the centre and a selection of different sized hearts.

3. Fold the outer piece of the card and set it aside for later. This will make the base for your card.

4. To create the pop-up mechanism fold the smaller (inner) piece in half and cut along the dashed lines. Try to be as precise as possible.

5. Fold back to create three tabs.

6. Unfold the tabs and open the card back out. Take the tabs and push them outward. This is what makes your hearts pop.

7. Glue the smaller inner piece (without gluing the tabs!) to the inside of the card base.

8. Add a heart to each of the pop-up tabs.

9. Decorate the front of your card and the rest of the inside with the leftover hearts.

Optional: Add stickers, red hearts, doodles, or cute little love notes inside of the card.

You can also write a sweet Valentine’s message 'You make my heart pop!' or 'Have a popping good Valentine!' or 'Popping in to say Happy Valentine's Day!'
