To make your own felt flowers, you'll need a few basic supplies including:
Felt Sheets - you can find a whole rainbow of different coloured wool felt here.
Scissors

And a felt flower template or tutorial for the flower you want to make.
There are plenty of templates available online or you can make your own by tracing petal shapes onto a piece of paper. Once you have your chosen template, you can use it to trace and cut out the flower petals from the felt sheets.
If you don't want to use a template there are a few different techniques for making felt flowers. The felt fringe or loopy flowers are a good one to start with.
Next, you'll want to glue the petals together to create the flower. This is where the fun really begins as you can experiment with different sizes, shapes and colours.
You can make small, delicate flowers for a necklace or earrings or large, bold flowers for wall hangings or photo backdrops. You can also add stems, leaves or other embellishments to make the flower more unique.
Easy Felt Flowers.
One of my favourite ways to use them is as hair accessories. I've made them into a hair clip, attached them to a crocheted hat and even a headband for a summer party.
Simply place a dot of glue on the back of your flower and stick it to a plain hair clip and you're done. A great idea if you're a beginner crafter.
They're so easy to make and they look amazing in photos. You can make a bunch of these in different colours to match any outfit.
If you're feeling really ambitious, you can even try making a felt flower bouquet. This is a great budget-friendly alternative to real flowers.
Arrange them on a vase for a beautiful and unique centerpiece that will last forever.
Making Felt Flowers.
If you've never made felt flowers or felt crafts before it can be a little tricky at the beginning. I'm not going to lie, the first time I made a felt flower it looked more like a squashed felt ball than a beautiful flower but after a few attempts I finally got the hang of it.
Making felt flowers is all about the details. The petal shape, leaf shape, the size of the center of the flower and the placement of any petals or leaves. It's a bit like a jigsaw puzzle. If you can use a template to get the shapes right you're halfway there already.
So even if your first few flowers don't turn out exactly how you wanted, try not to get too discouraged. Keep practising and soon you'll be making beautiful hand-made blossoms of your own.
